Man in clown mask charged after scaring drivers

GRANTVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) - State police say a Palmyra man wearing a clown mask faces disorderly conduct charges after he jumped in front of a car Wednesday night, apparently trying to scare motorists.

According to state news release, 34-year-old Jonathan Kline was in the vicinity of Pheasant Road and Sand Beach Road in East Hanover Township around 11 p.m. Wednesday when he jumped in front of a car.

Police said Kline would then chase and scream at other motorists who slowed down or stopped.

Police said when they questioned Kline about the incident, he said it was a joke.

"Clown mask or not, obviously jumping out in traffic is going to be a scary situation for the driver," Trooper Robert Hicks said.

No injuries were reported.
