WASHINGTON (WHTM) - Michaels is recalling more than 250,000 wheel kits and about 110,000 spin art kits because the battery compartments can overheat.
The company has received one report of overheating and one report of a fire in the Creatology pottery wheel kits. There have been two reports of overheating in the Creatology spin art kits, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
No injuries have been reported.
The recalled pottery wheel kits are blue and have an SKU number of 078859 and a UPC code of either 0400100663462, 0042409006603, 0042409006702, 0042409006757, 0069545670017, or 0886946767692.
The recalled art kits are blue and have an SKU number of 197861 and a UPC code of 042409093252, 042409930601, 042409093115, 042409093061, 042409931141, 069545093113, or 400100663486.
All kits were sold exclusively by Michaels from August 2011 through February 2018 for about $25.
The safety commission said people should take the recalled pottery wheel and spin art kits away from children and return them to any Michaels store for a full refund.
