Lancaster man convicted in 2015 armed robbery

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) - A Lancaster man accused of robbing a city store at gunpoint last year has been convicted.

Edgardo Alfaro-Rodriguez was found guilty of felony robbery Tuesday in court.

Authorities say that on Dec. 2, 2015, Alfaro-Rodriguez, while wearing a mask, displayed a gun to a cashier at the Family Dollar on South Duke Street. Alfaro-Rodriguez fled when the cashier was unable to open the register.

Police were led to Alfaro-Rodriguez by a recovered a fingerprint left behind at the scene.

Judge Howard Knisely will order a sentence after a background check is completed.

Assistant District Attorney Christine L. Wilson requested that Alfaro-Rodriguez's bail be raised to $100,000, which Judge Knisely ordered.
