The Dauphin County District Attorney's Office is investigating a shooting involving an off-duty Harrisburg police officer.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning after police say several people got into an argument in a parking lot in the 200 block of Chestnut Street. The dispute led to the firing of multiple shots.
Malcolm Brummell, 29, and Jeremy Dickens, 28 were shot and wounded hit during the exchange of gunfire. Both men were taken to hospitals. Brummel is reported to be in critical condition at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
District Attorney Ed Marsico says officer Mark Moyle was off-duty and at his home when he heard the gunfire. He then went outside with his service weapon.
"He then engaged the individuals who had been involved in the shooting," Marsico said. "He also fired his weapon at some point during that encounter." Moyle hurt his ankle running from the scene.
Police are looking for a man they consider to be a person of interest. Eric King is said to have ties to a vehicle that was involved in the shooting.
Anyone with information on King's whereabouts is asked to call Harrisburg Police at 255-3131.
