Barn Fire Kills 20 Dogs on Mifflin County Farm
   posted 12:21 pm Thu November 01, 2007 - Allensville
Fire has killed a number of dogs on a Mifflin County farm.

Authorities say more than 20 dogs died Wednesday afternoon when flames destroyed a barn and several outlying buildings at the Reuben Swarey farm on Route 655, about four miles west of Allensville in Mifflin County.

Firefighters say the barn was engulfed in flames when they arrived.

Fire officials say they believe the fire was started by a 4-year-old playing with a "torch." Crews were on the scene for about five hours.

puppy mills suck!! i cant believe all those dogs died. Who was in charge of watching that 4yr old? Poor defenseless dogs. and mmorningstar i agree with you, people should def. adopt from the Humane Society or from a rescue of a specific breed. Too many animals are being put to sleep while you are buying one from a mill.
