Isaiah Harper

Isaiah is a veteran reporter who is happy to be covering stories that impact the people of Tuscaloosa and western Alabama.

Isaiah joined ABC 33/40 in December 2006. Before that he was a reporter for two other local stations. His natural talents landed him a job right out of college when he worked as a news photographer, editor and production assistant. Isaiah reported on state politics while working for the ABC affiliate in Montgomery. And he's been a reporter for the NBC affiliate in Chattanooga.

In 2003, Isaiah moved back to Birmingham to help his mother, "Mattie" battle breast cancer. She lost the fight in March 2006. Since then, Isaiah's become an advocate for breast cancer research. "My mother gave the ugly disease a really good fight and I was inspired by her amazing strength. I encourage anyone afflicted to give it your best."

Isaiah is a native of Adamsville, Alabama and a graduate of Minor High School. He attended Jefferson State Community College on a Speech / Debate scholarship. He was bitten by the communications bug while traveling to other colleges across the southeast to compete in Informative and Persuasive Speaking and Literature Interpretation. Isaiah transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned degrees in Communication Theory, Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.

Isaiah is married to his lovely wife Pam. They have two kids and spend most of their spare time mentoring young people. They also run their own food and clothing ministry called 'IN-BETWEEN' to help the less fortunate.
