Brett Thackara

Brett Thackara Brett Thackara

Born and raised in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, it was the historic blizzard of 1993 that first grabbed Brett's attention and steered him toward a profession in meteorology.

He earned his B.S. degree in meteorology from Penn State University in May 2007. While at Penn State, Brett was actively involved in the Campus Weather Service, where he participated in both the radio and video programs.

Brett joined the abc27 StormTrak Team in November 2007 and loves the challenge of forecasting in Central Pennsylvania. He loves the fact that Pennsylvania has a diverse climate where anything can happen from blizzards to tornadoes. Brett started the Saturday and Sunday morning news with James Crummel in April 2008 and held that position until he was promoted to abc27 News Daybreak. Tune in every morning starting at 4:30 a.m. for the latest forecast and some fun along the way!

When he is not watching the weather, Brett enjoys golfing, reading, watching his favorite television shows, and spending time with his family and friends.
