Sharon Prudhomme of Prudhomme's Lost Cajun Kitchen in Columbia shares a delicious dip that will be the rave of your Super Bowl party.
1/2 red onion, diced
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 bell pepper, diced
2-3 mushrooms, chopped
1/4 cup bacon, cooked and chopped
1/2 tomato, chopped
2 tablespoons old bay or seafood seasoning
1/2 teaspoon horseradish sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
zest of 1 lemon
oil for cooking
In saute pan, add a few tablespoons of oil, veggies and seasonings. Cook until onions begin to caramelize.
Add bacon, cream cheese and sour cream - lower heat and simmer until mixed well & smooth (no cream cheese lumps).
Mix in hot sauce & horseradish.
Place in bowl, add zest of lemon & stir.
Add crab and mix well.
Serve with crackers or crusty bread
