Pa. House approves bill to improve funeral procession safety

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The state House has unanimously passed legislation that would allow funeral directors to display flashing or revolving purple lights in any funeral processional vehicle being driven in a funeral procession.

House Bill 869 is sponsored by Rep. Ron Marsico, R-Dauphin, who said the recent use of daytime running lights has made it more difficult to distinguish a funeral procession from other traffic.

The legislation was forwarded to the Senate for consideration.
