Police are looking for the suspect in connection with an armed bank robbery that happened Friday afternoon in Lancaster.
Police said a man entered the Susquehanna Bank on Route 41 in Gap, Pa., around 2:40 p.m. and pulled out a handgun. He then reportedly told several bank employees and a customer to "get down on the floor" while pointing the gun at them.
He escaped with two bags of money that became useless when packets of red dye inside of them exploded, police said. The suspect then dropped both bags in the bank parking lot and fled toward Pequea Avenue.
Police described the suspect as a tall, white male with a heavy build. He was wearing a tan baseball cap, a blue sweatshirt, and light-colored pants. He also had a light-colored cloth wrapped around his face.
Police said the man escaped in a tan-colored, older-model sedan. His clothing was likely stained from the red dye. Anyone with information is asked to call 717-290-1964.
