PITTSBURGH (AP) - Federal environmental officials hold a public hearing in Pittsburgh today on a proposal setting stricter federal pollution standards for coal-burning power plants. The proposal prompted a rally yesterday by coal industry supporters, with Governor Tom Corbett among those blasting the proposed regulations.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police arrested 30 protesters involved in a union demonstration yesterday outside the UPMC medical system's headquarters. The protest was peaceful but snarled downtown traffic. SEIU officials say UPMC has retaliated and fired workers who supported unionization.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Two administrative law judges have advised state regulators to deny Sunoco Logistics' request to exempt pump and valve control stations from local zoning ordinances. The recommendation is a setback for Sunoco's planned propane and ethane pipeline across southern Pennsylvania later this year.
