It's been more than a year since a Swatara Township woman was gunned down on her front porch, and police still have no suspects.
Rezija Sabic, 39, was shot twice in the back just after sunrise on July 28, 2010. Her two teenage daughters, Naira and Maida, were sleeping inside the house and her husband, Senad, had left for work about 30 minutes before. He told abc27 Tuesday he's frustrated police have not been able to make an arrest.
"The fact that somebody can come and do this in the morning and in broad daylight, and nobody knows anything, I just don't know what to think," he said.
Senad said police spent too much time questioning him, rather than looking for his wife's true killer.
"That is wrong," he said. "It is wrong because I don't know about percentages or whatever, but we are from Bosnia and we don't kill our family."
Swatara Township police chief Jason Umberger said they're frustrated too, but they're not giving up.
"We've worked with multiple agencies and we've involved the FBI," he said. "We're doing everything we humanly can to identify who did this."
In the meantime, the family is left wondering who killed the loving wife and mother.
"I feel empty not knowing and maybe if I find out who did this and somebody was arrested, it might help ease the pain just a little bit," 18-year-old Naira Sabic said.
There is a $12,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder of Rezija Sabic. You can also remain anonymous by calling Dauphin County Crimestoppers at 1-800-262-3080.
