Janel Knight joined the abc27 News team in July 2011. She is a morning associate producer and reporter for Daybreak.
She fell in love with broadcasting when she was just seven years old. On a family trip to Washington, D.C. she gave daily reports on her family's home video camera.
Before joining the abc27 News team, Janel spent three years as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WJAC in Johnstown, Pa.
In 2008, she graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a double minor in multi-ethnic studies and justice.
Janel was born and raised in the city of champions - Boston - but her family hails from the Caribbean nations of Barbados and Jamaica. If you can't tell, she is a die-hard Boston sports fan.
During her spare time she enjoys reading, surfing the Internet, watching television and giving back to the community through service.
