ABC27 WHTM Gretchen Gailey

Meet the abc27 News Team

Gretchen Gailey

Gretchen joined the abc27 News team in July of 2011. Originally from Pittsburgh, she is a Pennsylvania girl who loves her Steelers and pierogies.

Gretchen stayed true to her P-A roots and attended Penn State University. After college, she went to Washington D.C., to work for NBC News as a producer covering national politics and the U.S. invasion of Iraq. She stayed with the network to become a member of the NBC News political unit for the 2004 Presidential Election.

In 2005, Gretchen took a break from network news and became a reporter at NBC25 in Hagerstown, Maryland, where she returned to her P-A roots by covering Franklin and Fulton counties as well as state politics in Harrisburg.

Gretchen then headed back to Washington to be a field producer for Fox News Channel, where she covered stories including the D.C. sniper and the dog fighting charges against Michael Vick, and was sent to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti after a devastating earthquake in 2010.

On her own time, Gretchen does a great deal of work with the Daughters of the American Revolution and the USO.
