CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Lancaster County woman died in a two-vehicle crash that closed a section of Interstate 81 near Carlisle for about two hours Wednesday afternoon.

Brittany Diem, 24, of Narvon, struck a second vehicle in the southbound lanes at mile marker 50 in Middlesex Township shortly after 4 p.m., according to Cumberland County Coroner Todd Eckenrode.

The impact caused Diem's car to go out of control before it rolled over several times in the median. Diem was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eckenrode said witnesses reported that Diem's vehicle was weaving through traffic before the crash.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-81 were closed until shortly before 6 p.m.

The second vehicle sustained minor damage and the operator was not injured.
