Several roads remain closed after flooding

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

PennDOT said 19 state roads in south central Pennsylvania remained closed Thursday afternoon as the result of flood-related issues.

The following is a list of road closings in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York counties as of 4 p.m.:

Adams County (0 closures)

 

Cumberland County (0 closures)

 

Dauphin County (4 closures)

Roundtop Road, State Route 2005, along Iron Run between Schoolhouse Road and Waltonville Road/Roundtop Road in Londonderry Township remains closed as a result of a washout due to flooding. PennDOT crews will repair and resurface the road.

Canal Street, State Route 2010, along Manada Creek between Mobile Home Park and PA Route 39/Hershey Road in South Hanover Township remains closed due to flooding. The road will remain closed until the water has receded and any necessary repairs have been made.

Manada Bottom Road, State Route 2017, along Manada Creek between Jonestown Road and Dry Run Road in East Hanover Township remains closed as a result of a washout due to flooding. PennDOT crews will repair and resurface the road.

Luxemburg Road, State Route 4002, bridge over Pine Creek between Bellevue Road and Erdman Road in Lykens Township remains closed due to storm damage. A construction contract to repair the bridge will be bid within the next few weeks. PennDOT expects the bridge to be closed for several months.

 

Franklin County (0 closures)

 

Lancaster County (3 closures)

PA Route 897/Main Street bridge over Harnish Run between Texter Mountain Road and Peartown Road West Cocalico Township remains closed due to storm damage. A construction contract to replace the bridge will be bid within the next few weeks. PennDOT expects the bridge to be closed for several months.

Lincoln Road, State Route 1024, between Clay Road in Warwick Township and Carpenter Road in Clay Township remains closed due to flooding. The road will remain closed until the water has receded and any necessary repairs have been made.

Mt. Pleasant Road, State Route 4010, between Risser Mill Road in Mt Joy Township and Milton Grove Road in Rapho Township remains closed due to flooding. The road will remain closed until the water has receded and any necessary repairs have been made.

 

Lebanon County (5 closures)

U.S. 422/Main Street at Congress Avenue between Plaza Drive in North Londonderry Township and White Oak Street in Annville remains closed as a result of a sinkhole due to flooding. Repairs to a sinkhole are underway and U.S. 422 should reopen to traffic within a few days, weather permitting.

Stacks Dam Road, State Route 1008, between Mount Zion Road in Bethel Township and Halfway Drive/Rosebud Road in Jackson Township remains closed as a result of a collapsed drainage pipe due to flooding. PennDOT crews will repair and resurface the road.

Mount Zion Road, State Route 1011, near Little Swatara Creek between Short Road and Greble Road in Bethel Township remains closed due to flooding. PennDOT has hired J.D. Eckman, Inc. through an emergency contract to repair and resurface the roadway. The road should reopen to traffic within a few days, weather permitting.

Iona Road, State Route 2004, between PA Route 897/South 5th Avenue in South Lebanon Township and Prescott Road in Heidelberg Township remains closed due to flooding. The road will remain closed until the water has receded and any necessary repairs have been made.

Millardsville Road, State Route 2019, between Tulpehocken Road and Reilly Road in Jackson Township remains closed. Tulpehocken Creek has breached its banks and water continues to run through the washed out roadway. PennDOT has hired Pennsy Supply, Inc. through an emergency contract to complete the stream bank restoration. PennDOT expects the road to be closed for several months until repairs can be made.

 

Perry County (0 closures)

 

York County (7 closures)

PA Route 182 between Indian Rock Dam Road and Croll School Road in Spring Garden Township remains closed due to flooding. The road will remain closed until the water has receded and any necessary repairs have been made.

Codorus Furnace Road, State Route 1008, between Abbey Road in East Manchester Township and Jennifer Lane in Hellam Township remains closed due to drainage pipe washout. PennDOT crews will repair and resurface the roadway.

Kreutz Creek Road, State Route 1014, bridge over a stream between Horn Road and Orebank Road in Hellam Township remains closed. PennDOT has hired Susquehanna Valley Construction Corp. through an emergency contract to repair the bridge. PennDOT expects the bridge to be closed for several weeks.

Wago Road, State Route 1019, between Board Road and Gravel Hill Road in East Manchester Township remains closed. PennDOT has hired J.D. Eckman, Inc. through an emergency contract to repair and resurface the road. The contractor anticipates working 12-hour days to repair and resurface the road. PennDOT expects the road to be closed for several weeks.

Libhart Mill Road, State Route 2008, bridge over Kreutz Creek in Hellam Township remains closed. A field inspection determined that the bridge abutment has been compromised due to flood damage. PennDOT will hire a private contractor under an emergency contract to repair the bridge within the next several days. PennDOT expects the bridge to be closed for several weeks.

Owad Road, State Route 2034, between Bridgetown Road and Woodbine Road in Fawn Township remains closed as a result of a wash out due to flooding. PennDOT crews will repair and resurface the road.

Sheep Bridge Road, State Route 4021, between Green Spring Road and Kise Mill Road in Newberry Township remains closed. PennDOT has hired Kinsley Construction, Inc. through an emergency contract to stabilize the rock slope along the road. PennDOT expects repairs to be completed and the bridge to reopen to traffic within the next few days, weather permitting.
