A committee in the state House of Representatives discussed a bill Monday afternoon that would prevent the discrimination of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals in Pennsylvania.
The House Democratic Policy Committee discussed House Bill 300, which would protect LGBT individuals from encountering discrimination in the workplace, housing, and public accommodation.
The measure would make Pennsylvania more economically competitive in attracting businesses and residents, according to Representative Dan Frankel (D-Allegheny), who introduced the bill.
He pointed out that four of Pennsylvania's surrounding states - Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware and New York - have already adopted such legislation.
