
Two teenagers were rescued from a burning car accident that happened Monday afternoon in West Hempfield Township.
Police said Christopher Johns, 18, of Landisville, Pa. was driving east on Old Harrisburg Pike with a 17-year-old passenger from Columbia, Pa. when they traveled off of the roadway. The car then went down an embankment where it struck a tree and burst into flames.
Johns and his passenger were pulled to safety by passing motorists, police said. They were taken to Lancaster General Hospital with severe injuries.
