ABC27 WHTM Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving Weekend

Posted: Updated:

Ok, ya know how I mentioned last week that I'm getting some interesting emails, the kind you get when you're getting on in age, if you will?  Well, this week took the cake....this time it was about burial plots!!  C'mon, I'm not anywhere near dead yet!  Although I am on the cusp of a milestone birthday!  This is a perfect example of why, at times, I'm sorry I have an email address.  Although, I AM thankful that I am alive to have one!

Speaking of thankful, it is Thanksgiving weekend and a time to reflect on what's important in our lives, to let go of the petty things that can bother us way too much, and feel the love and magic of the holidays!

Here are a few things going on around the area this weekend, plus just some general ideas of things to do while you're enjoying the holiday weekend:

-Christmas Tree Sales/Christmas Tree Lightings - check your local nurseries and townships, as many are having sales and lighting ceremonies as well!

-Holiday Open Houses/House Tours - Many communities are bringing in the Christmas season beginning this weekend, with open houses and tours.  Check with your local townships!

-Marines Toys for Tots Program - in the spirit of giving, you can stop by the Marysville Moose Lodge all weekend long and drop off an unwrapped toy for a child 0-14 years old to receive on Christmas.  For more information call 717-957-2627.

-Zumba Classes - if you want to stay ahead of the eating game this holiday season, or just try something new and fun and good for you, then sign up for classes at one of these two locations, only $5/class!   In Camp Hill call Summer Switzer 717-421-2197 and in Mechanicsburg, call First United Methodist Church 717-766-4611 x104.

Winter Walk - for another way to stay moving, why not head to Hershey Gardens for their annual Winter Walk this weekend and the first weekend of December.  Hours are 10am-4pm. And admission is only $10 for adults, cheaper for kids and seniors!  717-534-3492.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, everyone!
