Lower Allen officials review plans for proposed Walmart

CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) -

The Lower Allen Township planning commission is once again reviewing plans for a proposed Walmart on Hartzdale Drive, next to the Capital City Mall.

Officials reviewed a revised plan for the store Tuesday night.  Construction officials made several changes to the original plan after residents raised objections.

The changes include a lower elevated structure around the store and a screen wall around loading docks for truck privacy.

"The goal was to try and hide them and whatever noise there is as they're backing up...to get it behind that screen wall," said senior project manager Brian Meyers.

"I suggest you take a step back from these pretty pictures and nice words and interesting presentations and do the due diligence that I think the citizens of Lower Allen Township and this whole community deserve," said resident Sandra Christianson.

The board recommended approval to waive three township ordinance requirements for the store.
