IS IT STILL JANUARY?????

Posted: Updated:

So, I recently dropped a few pounds and in anticipation of summer, I decided to try on some swimsuits (yes 2-pieces, bikinis).  While it's only January, I figured this might be a good "reality" exercise.  Ya see, it could go two ways....I could try them on and feel good about the weight I've lost or, see how far I still have to go!  Doing it NOW would certainly give me enough time to make the improvements I need to by summer, right?  What I also discovered is, that even though I look pretty good (for my age), there are only two poses to comfortably be in public in a bikini!  Standing up (sucking it in of course) or laying down (total maximum sun bathing position).  Sitting is completely out of the question and not an option, for ME anyway!  So, when summer does arrive, I'll have to remind myself not to pose in any configuration that even resembles that of sitting, bending my mid-section into the likes of a swollen accordion.  Maybe I'll just stick with my old standby....a skirted one-piece!

In the meantime, it's still January, which means going out fully clothed, bundled up, being able to sit anywhere, anyhow, with no mid-section malady!  Here are some things to do this weekend that don't involve a bikini:

January 13th

-Pa Farm Show - at the Farm Show Complex on Cameron Street in Harrisburg.  Still going on!!  Hours are 9:00am-9:00pm.

-Cruise Control Trio - Ok, I have to self-promote here, sorry.  My pop/rock trio is entertaining at the Rock Bass Grill in Wormleysburg from 9:00pm-midnight!  We play a huge variety of tunes, something for everyone!  It's always a good time!!

-Zumbathon - This sounds like fun and if I wasn't gigging, I'd attend this event!  It's two hours of great music and groovy moves, all for a great cause!  Hours are 6:30-8:30pm, Chambers Hill United Methodist Church and all proceeds go to the Morning Star Pregnancy Center.  Call to sign up at 717-829-8894.

-Sesame Street "Live" - Hershey Theatre at 7:00pm.  More shows all weekend!  Call the theatre at 717-534-3405.

January 14th

-Elvis Birthday Bash - For all of you Elvis fans, check out this show at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster.  Two performers...the YOUNG Elvis and the OLD Elvis will entertain you with all of his great music!  Call the theatre at 1-800-648-4102.

-Rascal Flatts & Sara Evans - in concert at the Giant Center in Hershey!  Sounds like a great show!  Starts at 7:30pm.   717-534-3911.
