Halifax auto dealer cited for violations

HALIFAX, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police have cited a used car dealership in northern Dauphin County for several violations following a report by abc27 News earlier this month.

The violations found at Taylor's Auto Sales and Service in Halifax include late title submissions to PennDOT, unlicensed sales people, and unprofessional conduct by a licensed dealer, according to the agency's Vehicle Fraud Unit.

The business faces fines and a possible suspension of its dealer license.

abc27 News reported Jan 6. that a Halifax couple, Ed and Wilma Snyder, were forced to park a minivan they bought from Taylor's because the temporary registration expired 90 days after the purchase.

Auto dealers have 20 days to send the paperwork to PennDOT.

Tom Delp, who sold the Snyder's their car, told abc27 that PennDOT was too slow in processing the paperwork.

State police said they received calls from two other customers who reported the same problems after purchasing vehicles from Taylor's at the end of last year.
