ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -
Forty-year old Baljeet Singh was arrested Wednesday for allegedly selling drugs at his Elizabethtown convenience store.
Police also caught 29-year-old Jaspreet Singh, the clerk officers say made the transactions.
Authorities nabbed the two after getting tips and sending in cops to do an undercover drug buy.
They busted CR's Friendly Market on the 500 block of E. High Street, where police said they discovered more than 100 packs of synthetic marijuana and bath salts, both illegal since August.
Even more shocking: police said the pair let people buy the illegal drugs with food stamps.
"We want to send a message, not only here in our community, but I can tell you that law enforcement-wide we are done with this. Its illegal," Elizabethtown Police Chief Jack Mentzer said.
To make matters worse, the store is near E-town high school. That doesn't sit well with neighbors.
"I am just worried they were selling to the kids and that's even worse," neighbor Robert Risbon said.
Local, state and federal authorities assisted in the investigation.
Bail was set at $250,000 each.
The store remains open.
