HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in suburban Harrisburg said they are attempting to identify a "person of interest" who may know something about a theft at the K-mart store on Jonestown Road.

Lower Paxton Township police said a shopper on Jan. 20 inadvertently left her purse, with a large quantity of cash, hanging from a rack in the women's clothing section.

When she realized that she had lost the purse, she returned to the rack and it was gone, police said.

Store security officers later found the purse in the men's clothing section, but the cash and her cell phone were gone.

Police have released a surveillance photograph of a man who was near the purse at the time of the theft.

They are trying to determine if he is a witness or a suspect.

Anyone with information may call 657-5656, leave an anonymous tip at 724-8317 or call Crime Stoppers at (800) 262-3080.
