Carlisle police say a man attached his smartphone to a pole and used it to spy on a woman in her second-floor bedroom.
The woman believes he recorded her changing her clothes. Police think the man chose her at random and they do not know who he is.
Police say criminals adapt to new technology, and that's all the more reason for people to be aware of their surroundings.
"At any point in time you can be recorded by anyone without your consent, but in this case she definitely had a very reasonable expectation of privacy in her own home, making it illegal," said Officer Brian Shull.
The incident was reported to police Wednesday evening.
