Printing company apologizes for 'tax crisis'

Posted: Updated:
HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) -

A printing company is making amends after it accidentally mailed out 2,000 tax forms with other people's social security numbers attached.

Security Savings Systems mailed a letter to Derry Township residents. They apologized, explained their error and offered free credit monitoring for a year.

John Lutes was panicked on Wednesday but now feels his information is safe.

"I feel much more at ease," he said. "I know that I've enrolled into Protect My I.D and no activity has been done."

The Tax Association says it has a list of who received the identity of each resident, and that the police have been informed.

So far there have been no reports of identity theft.
