State police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who seriously injured an 18-year-old girl when he crashed into the back of a horse and buggy in Lancaster County.
Five people were in the buggy as it traveled south on Belmont Road in Paradise Township early Monday, according to police.
Ruthann Zook, of Paradise, was riding on the back when the buggy was struck at around 12:43 a.m.
She was sent to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment of a severe cut to her head, police said.
Police said among the debris recovered from the scene were plastic paneling parts from the front bumper of the fleeing vehicle, a driver's side mirror, and a metal "Deflecta Shield" running board.
Investigators are asking auto repair shops, auto body shops and parts departments to be on the lookout for any vehicle missing those parts.
There may also be black paint from the buggy on the vehicle, police said.
