So here we are....we made it through January, the days are getting longer and love is in the air. Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I'm always amused at how strongly divided people's opinions are about this holiday in particular! As you may or may not know, Valentine's Day allegedly was created after a Roman priest by the name of Valentine, was made a martyr and pronounced the Patron Saint of Lovers after his death on February 14th, 269 A.D. Whatever the origins, we celebrate it every year with chocolates and balloons and diamonds and profess our feelings to the ones we love with mushy Hallmark cards, engagement rings, extravagant dinners and even exotic vacations! I got a real kick out of it as a kid because it was the only day you could really get away with letting someone you had a crush on, know it! If you're shy about expressing your feelings for someone, at least you have one day a year to let it all out! Personally, I think we should all try to let it all out more often, EVERY day of the year!
