Millersburg woman to return to U.S. after 4-year adoption fight

MILLERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

After more than four years of fighting governments and red tape, a Dauphin County woman will finally be allowed to return to the United States.

Federal officials have finally approved a visa for the son Rebecca Morlock adopted in India.

Morlock, of Millersburg, rescued the boy as an infant while she was doing mission work in 2008.

After a long struggle, India's government approved her adoption of the child, but federal bureaucracy in the U.S. slowed down the process until last fall, when a Dauphin County judge did the adoption process via webcam.

Morlock's father, Wayne, hasn't seen his daughter in four years.

"It's hard to put into words because I haven't been able to give her a hug," Wayne Morlock said. "I'd just be so glad to see her and finally meet little Kyle."
