Ted Nugent makes appearance in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Outdoor enthusiast and rock star Ted Nugent was in Harrisburg Saturday for the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show.

Nugent appeared at the Outdoor Channel booth before signing autographs for fans. Known for his conservative political views and defense of gun-ownership laws, Nugent had a lot to say about supporting Second Amendment rights.

He said hunting and gun sports are good for kids, but it will take a lot more work to improve the culture in Washington.

"So the prognosis is improving, but it's still gonna take a very focused and organized recruitment mindset to get these kids away from these life threatening activities - the obesity and zombieism of electronics and the curse of electronic nothingness," Nugent said.

Nugent founded "Kamp for Kids," a wildlife and outdoor camp catered towards youth.
