MCSHERRYSTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -
A three-car crash closed an Adams County road for hours Monday evening, and seriously injured one driver.
It happened in the 3000 block of Hanover Pike in Conewago Township near McSherrystown.
First responders say around 5:00 p.m., a box truck crossed the center line for unknown reasons, hitting two cars before crashing into a house.
An entire family was inside at the time, including three children -- Alexa, Ashley and Andon Bankert.
"We were doing the dishes and we just heard this big bump and it sounded like thunder kind of," Alexa said.
"Then glass fell down in the living room and it just sounded like a big boulder crashing the house," Andon said.
A 22-year-old woman trapped inside one of those cars was Life-Lioned to York Hospital with serious injuries. A woman in the other car was also taken to the hospital by car.
Conewago Township police tell abc27 charges are pending against the driver of the truck.
Hanover Pike was expected to re-open at around 11:00 p.m.
