HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
A jury has been selected in the second state corruption case against a former top Democratic lawmaker.
Former Rep. Mike Veon and his one-time aide, Annamarie Perretta-Rosepink, are facing trial in Dauphin County on charges they misused public grant money for Veon's nonprofit.
Opening statements are expected Thursday.
State prosecutors accuse Veon and Perretta-Rosepink of illegally diverting millions of taxpayer dollars through the Beaver Initiative for Growth, his nonprofit organization in Beaver County.
Veon is already serving prison time for a 2010 conviction on corruption charges stemming from the so-called "Bonusgate" investigation of the House Democratic Caucus.
