Roundtop Mountain Resort not sweating the mild winter

WELLSVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Temperatures are supposed to climb into the 60's by the end of the week. That should have people at Roundtop Mountain Resort worried, right?  Not really.

There were a lot of skiers and snowboarders at the resort Monday, and many said they actually like coming out in the mild temperatures.

"I'd rather be warmer than cold," said Mike DiNatale of Bel Air, Maryland.

"We're out here, just like this, no real jackets...it's nice," said Barry Bleich of Dover.

"We've had a really good weekend," said Roundtop Marketing Director Chris Dudding. "We weren't really sure. Without the snow in people's back yards they're not thinking about it, but it's been a very strong weekend."

Roundtop officials also said despite the rising temperatures expected this week, they plan to have it all covered.  They hope to make snow several nights this week.

"It may bring people out who just like to ski in the warm," Dudding said.
