A 27-year-old Allison Hill man was hospitalized early Tuesday after he was shot by a pair of robbers, according to police.
The victim told investigators he had gone to the home of a woman in the 300 block of Hummel Street and was on her porch when the robbers pointed a shotgun at him and demanded his valuables, police said.
The victim ran but was shot in the back, police said.
Authorities said the robbers stayed near the victim for a few minutes as he moved away as best he could, then left without taking anything from him.
Responding officers found him on the roadway shortly after midnight with numerous pellet wounds to his back. He was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of wounds that are not life threatening, police said.
He described the robbers as black and in their late teens, both wearing hooded sweatshirts.
