MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The Cumberland Valley School District is throwing around a lot of ideas about how to close a budget hole of more than $2.5 million dollars.

At two meetings Tuesday night, there was talk of cutting teachers and programs like music classes for elementary school students.

Paying a fee to participate in sports programs was also discussed. School officials are considering charging up to $100 per sport and raising taxes nearly two percent.

Meanwhile, school officials are also trying to figure out a way to redistrict elementary schools.
