Littlestown man found guilty of neglecting horses

LITTLESTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Littlestown man has been found guilty of neglecting horses that were under his care before the animals were seized from a farm last year.

An Adams County district judge on Tuesday found 45-year-old James Houseman guilty on 14 of 22 counts of animal cruelty.

Houseman leased a property at 135 Fesser Road and was paid by owners to board the animals, according to SPCA humane officers who said they found a dead horse crudely covered in hay and 21 seriously malnourished horses at the farm on Nov. 16.

One of the seized horses later died from malnourishment and another was euthanized.
