
A Harrisburg man is facing up to 10 years in prison for threatening a federal law enforcement officer.
Abraham Cruz, 51, was convicted following a two-day trial in federal court this week.
According to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith, Cruz made a threatening comment Cruz at a Social Security office after his application for benefits was denied.
When a special agent from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security called him to discuss the comment, Cruz threatened to kill the agent.
Smith said in a second phone call that was recorded, Cruz repeated his threat to kill the agent.
In addition to prison time, he faces a fine of up to $250,000.
