MCSHERRYSTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

The nephew of a 64-year-old woman killed in her McSherrystown home has been jailed on charges of criminal homicide, robbery and theft.

Jonathan Edward Leonard, 25, also of McSherrystown, was being held without bail in the Adams County Prison.

State police said Leonard was arrested Tuesday night, hours after his aunt, Christiana Leonard, was found dead in her living room.

Authorities said she had suffered several severe injuries to her head and face during an apparent struggle with her killer. A vase, table and chair were broken and her car, a 1992 Buick sedan, was missing.

After the Buick was recovered in Hanover, police said they found surveillance video that showed Jonathan Leonard getting out of the car. They said they also found blood on his clothing and shoes.

Police have not disclosed a motive for the killing.
