McSherrystown man held for court in aunt's killing

MCSHERRYSTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

A McSherrystown man has been held for court in the killing of his 64-year-old aunt.

Online court documents also indicate that prosecutors filed an additional charge against 25-year-old Jonathan Edward Leonard during his preliminary hearing Wednesday, a felony count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion.

Leonard remains in the Adams County Prison without bail and is scheduled for a formal arraignment May 17.

He also faces charges of criminal homicide, robbery and theft in the April 10 killing of Christiana Leonard at her McSherrystown home.

According to court documents in the case, police recovered surveillance video of Jonathan Leonard driving his aunt's 1992 Buick sedan in Hanover shortly after she was found dead in her living room.

The papers also indicate that Leonard had numerous cuts and scratches on his body and blood on his jeans and shoes when police took him into custody.
