MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
A oil slick caused a woman to lose control of her car and crash into a boulder, according to Upper Allen Township police.
Police said Amy Peters, 27, of Stewartstown, was traveling west in the 1200 block of East Lisburn Road on Monday morning when she lost control on the oil slick and struck the limestone boulder in a front yard.
The impact caused the vehicle to flip on its roof and severed the engine from the car, police said. Peters was able to crawl out the passenger side.
Her injuries included a possible broken elbow and cuts. She was transported to a hospital, police said.
The roadway was shut down for about an hour.
