The Harrisburg School District has been considering drastic measures to save money and balance its budget. Among the moves being discussed are eliminating kindergarten and eliminating the district's bus service.
Monday night, school board members discussed the potential cuts and whether or not they will have to resort to such painful measures.
Some Harrisburg schools have two principals. One board member questioned if that would be a better place to start cutting.
"When we're talking about cutting out kindergarten, but we have well over a million dollars in principal costs because we're doubling up on them, I think that's definitely something we need to look to," said board member Rhonda Mays.
The district has already cut $23 million in spending over the past two years.
