BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A witness at the center of a 1998 investigation of Jerry Sandusky testified Thursday at the child sexual abuse trial of the former Penn State assistant football coach.

The 25-year-old witness referred to by prosecutors as "Victim 6" told jurors Sandusky bear-hugged him in a locker-room shower. He testified that Sandusky put soap on his back and shoulders after a workout, then lifted him up chest-to-chest to rinse his hair, and said "I'll squeeze your guts out."

He said he was 11 years old, and blacked out at the time of the encounter.

Prosecutors say the boy's mother became suspicious when he returned home with wet hair. According to the grand jury report, Penn State police investigated and Sandusky was secretly recorded as he told the mother, "I wish I could ask for forgiveness. I know I will not get it from you. I wish I were dead."

On cross-examination, he said he could recall no further sexual contact with the coach. He said he recently graduated from a Bible college in Colorado.

Prosecutors also called former Penn State police officer Ronald Schreffler, who handled the 1998 investigation of Sandusky. He said after interviews with Sandusky and his accuser, he felt there was enough evidence to press charges, but former Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar disagreed and charges were never filed.

Gricar disappeared in 2005 and has been declared legally dead.

Schreffler told jurors that after he interviewed Sandusky, he told the coach, "I would tell you not to shower with young boys again." He said Sandusky agreed it was inappropriate and "bad judgment."
