Suspect wanted in shoplifting attempt

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are attempting to identify a man accused of an attempted theft at a Walmart store in Cumberland County.

Silver Spring Township police said the man on Tuesday tried to leave the store at 6520 Carlisle Pike with a shopping cart containing about $400 worth of merchandise.

He ran when confronted by store security and fled in a dark colored Mercury Mountaineer, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 697-0607 or leave an anonymous tip at 591-8242.
