BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - Jerry Sandusky's lawyer says an acquittal of his client on all charges would be "a shock," as jurors deliberate the former Penn State assistant football coach's fate on 48 criminal counts.

Joe Amendola told reporters inside the Centre County Courthouse that Sandusky was spending time with his wife and family until a verdict is reached.

Amendola says he'll "probably die of a heart attack" if his client beats all the charges. He calls it "a daunting, daunting case" and likens it to climbing Mount Everest.

The attorney's 15-minute interview ended with him being summoned into the chambers of Judge John Cleland, who's presided over the two-week trial. Cleland has issued a gag order barring lawyers from discussing the case.

The jury, meanwhile, was talking behind closed doors and planned to continue deliberating through dinner.
