Sandusky judge orders evidence to remain private

Posted: Updated:

The judge in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case issued an order today aimed at protecting victims and others who testified.

Judge John Cleland wrote that the Commonwealth evidence not made public during the trial should be kept confidential to protect the ongoing criminal investigation and the privacy of victims and witnesses. The attorney generals office had always maintained that the investigation into Sandusky is ongoing.

The order came Tuesday afternoon; on Tuesday morning, NBC News aired a police interview in which Sandusky's adopted son Matt revealed that he was sexually molested by his father. This morning, the Daily Best also made public a Facebook message allegedly sent from a defense witness to a sexual assault victim advocate.

Cleland also ordered the Sandusky defense team to disclose any and all pieces of evidence they have supplied to outside organizations.
