LITITZ, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police have identified the 82-year-old Lititz Borough resident who died while fishing, according to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department.
John Hershey was found in a tributary of the Cocalico Creek on Tuesday afternoon near a covered wooden bridge on Log Cabin Road in Warwick Township, near the West Earl Township border.
Preliminary investigations determined that Hershey suffered from a medical event and collapsed into the water. An official report will be released later, police said.
A nearby resident observed Hershey and contacted 911 for assistance, police said.
Volunteer Fire Fighters from Warwick Township and West Earl Township responded to the scene.
