Carlisle man shot in leg after defying Harrisburg robbers

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A man told Harrisburg police he was shot in the leg Sunday night after standing up to two armed robbers in the 600 block of Wiconisco Street.

Police are still looking for the two men who robbed the victim and his girlfriend around 11:15 p.m.

The couple, both from Carlisle, said they were approached by the robbers after they got out of their car. One of the men had a handgun and demanded their valuables, but the victim defied the robbers and was shot in the leg, police said.

The robbers took the victims' cell phones and a small amount of cash. The victim was taken to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment.

Police said they are looking for two black males in connection with the incident. One is described as 5'9" tall with short cropped hair and a short cropped beard. There is no further description of the other suspect.
