MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
A Mechanicsburg animal hospital said it has found homes for all of the 30 cats rescued last week from the back of a hot, broken down Jeep.
The cats were discovered Thursday by employees of an auto repair business on the Carlisle Pike after the owner broke down nearby. The owner, 26-year-old John Molnar of New Jersey, was told the cats had to be removed from the Jeep and he walked to the Good Hope Animal Hospital for help, officials said.
Officials said the cats were crammed in a dog crate, with a few more in a smaller cat crate, were panting excessively from being left in the heat, and were covered in urine and feces. A humane officer took custody of the animals, and police cited Molnar with 30 counts of animal cruelty.
