DOVER, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police said they arrested a Dover woman on charges she endangered her three children by fleeing an officer while driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Northern York County Regional police said the officer tried to stop 36-year-old Tena L. Wasbers on Fox Run Road in Dover Township at around 3 a.m. Monday because her registration plate was expired, but she refused to pull over for the lights and siren.
The officer followed Wasbers to a storage facility, where she opened the electronic gate and drove into the facility as the officer walked toward her car, police said.
She told the officer she was aware of the lights and siren, but she did not have time to stop because she was moving some items, according to police.
Police said her three boys were seated in the front seat. A nine-year-old boy was in a seatbelt, but his five- and three-year-old brothers were not in any type of restraint.
The boys' father took custody of his children. Wasbers was taken for a blood test and then released to the York County Sheriff's Department for arraignment.
