YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

The owner of a York Township jewelry store was shot three times during a robbery Thursday morning, according to police.

York Area Regional police said the owner, John White, was shot twice in the arm and once in the abdomen after the robbers held up White Jewelers, at 204 St. Charles Way, at or about 10:45 a.m.

White was reported to be in surgery at a hospital. His medical condition was not immediately available.

Police said three men were involved in the robbery. Two went into the store and shot a display case before stealing expensive watches.

Two employees were inside the store with White, but were not injured.

The robber fled in a stolen green Hyundai sedan, which was abandoned at the Powder Mill Apartments, where they were seen driving off in a black 2010 Chevrolet Impala with a Pennsylvania license plate of HXH 7313, according to police.
